The Route 66 artwork makes a cool gift for baby boomers and Pretend To Be A Time Traveler Day (December 8).
One of the original highways in the United States Numbered Highway System was Route 66 (AKA The Mother Road). A road sign was erected on November 11, 1926, marking the start of US 66. In total, the highway covered 2,448 miles (3,940 km) from Chicago, Illinois, through Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, and Arizona before terminating in Santa Monica in Los Angeles County, California.
In popular culture, Route 66 was recognized by the 1946 hit song "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" and the 1960s television series Route 66.
