Description
Photo of a giant anchor at the Tybee Island Pavilion and pier located at Savannah, Georgia, USA.
An excellent location for fishing and people watching, the Tybee Pier & Pavilion is just off U.S. Highway 80.
It's also a meeting place where dances, musical performances, and special events are held. Picnic tables, a snack bar, and public restrooms are available on site. Various festivals and events are held here throughout the year.
For three quarters of a century, Tybrisa Pier & Pavilion stood as a landmark on the South Atlantic Ocean. In 1967, the original Tybee Pier burned down.
While advertisements proclaimed Tybee to be the premier South Atlantic resort in 1891, it became a well-known destination for day-trippers and seasonal visitors. With its open dance floor and coastal setting, it became a legendary stop for Big Band tours and entertainers for five decades.
This photo of the Tybee Pier and Pavilion is great wall art for living room, den or office decor, Perfect gift idea for beach lovers too!
