The Swamp Fox Jet photo shows a historic, vintage aircraft located in South Carolina. This highly-regarded fighter jet was used by the US military for close air support missions during the Vietnam War.

This vintage aircraft was designed by McDonnell Aircraft Company, and was first used in 1963. To elaborate, the military fighter jet was initially designed as an attack aircraft. It provided close air support to ground troops.


The jet soared for up to three hours at a time and reached a maximum speed of 1,120 km/h (700 mph). The Swamp Fox Jet had a range of 1,300 km (800 miles). And it could carry six missiles or bombs along with its 30mm cannons.


Maneuverable and Agile Aircraft


This iconic plane was known for its maneuverability and agility while in flight due to its swept wings and powerful engines. It also featured sophisticated avionics systems which allowed pilots to navigate in adverse weather conditions. In addition, it's robust structure allowed it to take on extensive damage from enemy fire without compromising the pilot's safety.
