The Missionary Map of the World is a map created by the London Missionary Society in 1842. It was designed to show the spread of the Christian faith across the globe. The map includes details of the various missions of the London Missionary Society, which were active in Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Islands during the 19th century. The map features a topographical map of the world as well as small insets showing the locations and activities of each mission. Each mission is marked by a symbol indicating its primary focus, such as evangelism, education, or medical services. There are also several sections which feature data and statistics on the mission's progress, such as the number of converts, schools, and medical facilities. The Missionary Map of the World is an important document in the history of missionary work. It gives insight into the extent of Christianity’s reach during this period and illustrates the great amount of work done by the missionaries. The map also serves as an inspiring reminder of the courage and dedication that led these brave men and women to devote their lives to spreading the Gospel across the globe.
This black and white picture of the Missionary map of the world makes a great gift idea for pastors, domestic & foreign missionaries, and others involved in the Protestant church.
